Double Shift refers to a twofold shift within the exhibition of two pairs of artists: Corina Gertz and Kris Scholz both work with the medium of photography, but pursue fundamentally different approaches and perspectives. In contrast, Carmen Schaich and Alexander Föllenz's works emerge from different media approaches, yet are closely intertwined thematically and aesthetically. These intersecting working methods not only shape the exhibition's content but also structure the space itself.

In a long-term photographic project, Corina Gertz explores questions of identity, history, and belonging. Her focus is not on individual portraits but on clothing as an expression of cultural heritage. Textile traditions appear here as vehicles of diversity and individuality.

Kris Scholz, on the other hand, photographs landscapes, architecture, and abstract surfaces. Alongside images of war-torn and environmentally damaged cities, he presents photo sculptures in the exhibition: From slides and negatives, he composes luminous objects reminiscent of Gothic windows. Scholz thus questions our visual habits and invites us to rediscover the familiar.

Carmen Schaich's work moves between drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and installation. The starting point for her creative process is fragile, vulnerable, or destructive moments, which she transforms and aesthetically condenses. This results in poetic narrative spaces that unfold quietly or with immediate presence, opening up places of silence, concentration, and contemplation.

In his sculptural works, Alexander Föllenz explores themes such as violence and powerlessness, as well as desire and transience. He playfully and ironically draws on motifs from art history, ranging from ancient myths to pop culture.

Exhibition openening: Friday, 20. March 2026, 7 pm

The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. and closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and public holidays.

Admission is free.
